China officially starts development of 23 logistics hubs

China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Transport jointly issued notice to officially start the 2020 programme of national logistics hub construction.

The programme was initiated in 2019, planning to develop 23 national-level logistics hubs.

Ten are located  in east China: Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinhua( Yiwu), Linyi, Guangzhou, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Xiamen, Qingdao, Shenzhen; five in central area: Taiyuan, Ganzhou, Zhengzhou, Yichang, Changsha; seven in west China: Ulanqab- Erenhot, Nanjing, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Lanzhou, Urumqi, and one in Yingkou in northeast China.

Central government will increase investment and financial supports to the logistics hub project, according to National Development and Reform Commission.

Meanwhile, National Development and Reform Commission will start to draft the planning for logistics hub development during 2021-2025 in advance, and plan to develop over 210 logistics hubs in the next five-year period.
