Your Stripe account was working yesterday. Today you see this message. Your account is under review. Payouts paused.

If you are a non US founder, this happens more than you think. Stripe is not against you. Stripe is protecting itself from risk it does not understand.

Let me show you why it happens and how to fix it for good.

1. Your business looks risky in the first 48 hours.

Stripe has an automated system. It checks new accounts in the first two days. If something looks off, it pauses you.

What looks off to Stripe.

Your website is new and has no real address or phone number.
Your product description is vague. You wrote dropshipping products.
Your EIN and LLC name do not match exactly what you entered in Stripe.
Your bank account name is different from your business name.

Any one of these can trigger a block. Most founders make two or three mistakes at once.

2. The mismatch that kills 80 percent of accounts.

This is the biggest reason I see in audits.

You formed your LLC as ABC LLC. But in Stripe you wrote ABC or ABC Store. Stripe checks this against IRS database. If it does not match character by character, it flags you.

Same with EIN. You entered 12 3456789 but IRS has it as 12-3456789. Or you used your personal name where business name should be.

Fix is simple. Write exactly what is on your CP 575 letter. Copy paste. Do not add store or shop or online if it is not on the IRS letter.

3. Your website is not ready for Stripe review.

Stripe does not just check your form. A real person opens your website.

If your website has no refund policy, no shipping policy, no contact email, no terms page, you will be blocked.

If your store is password protected or under construction when Stripe reviews, you will be blocked.

If you are selling from a list that Stripe does not allow. Digital products with no delivery info, supplements with big claims, financial advice. You will be blocked.

Before you apply to Stripe, make your store look like a real store. Add pages that exist. Add a real support email that works.

4. How to unblock and never get blocked again.

If you are already blocked, do this.

Do not create a new Stripe account. That makes it worse. Stripe keeps track of IP and device.

Go to your dashboard. You will see a request for documents. Upload exactly what they ask.

Usually they ask for EIN letter CP 575. Upload the full letter. Not a cropped photo.

They ask for bank statement. Upload Mercury or Wise statement that shows business name same as LLC.

They ask for website proof. Make sure your website is live and matches the business you described.

Write a short clear message. I am the owner of ABC LLC, EIN 12-3456789. My website is abc.com selling physical apparel. My customers are in US. My business address is XYZ. Please review.

Keep it short. No long stories. No excuses.

5. The setup that never gets blocked.

I have seen founders who never get blocked. They do this before applying.

Form LLC. Get EIN. Wait until CP 575 letter arrives.
Open bank account in same business name. Mercury is best for this.
Build store with real policies. Add support email on domain, not gmail.
Connect domain email to Stripe account email.
Apply to Stripe with exact legal name and EIN. Use business address from LLC formation, not personal home.

Do it in this order. Do not skip steps. Stripe trusts order.

Your Stripe account is not random. It follows rules. When you look risky, it blocks. When you look like a real US business with documents that match, it approves.

If your account is blocked today, fix the mismatch, upload clean documents, and you will be back in 48 hours.
